iMMAP incorporated as a not-for-profit 501 c3 organization in 2006, headquartered in Washington D.C. The iMMAP team formed in 2007 in Washington D.C., to lead the first internationally coordinated effort combining information management, sociology, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology expanding beyond humanitarian mine action to the broader relief and international development arena.
Since then, iMMAP has been a pioneering humanitarian organization, leading the way towards the effective use of information management practices and principles in service to the world's most vulnerable populations.
