Current Projects: - Seconded staff to provide IM support to nine humanitarian sectors.

Since November 2016, iMMAP has been providing IM support to nine humanitarian sectors responding to the crisis in north east Nigeria, with a grant from USAID/OFDA. The program aimed at strengthening the information management (IM) capacity of the humanitarian sectors in the country, as well as supporting Information flow from sectors and inter-sectoral analysis. A key component of this project is the building of the national IM capacity, with the aim of ensuring a sustained and skilled support to the sectors when the project completes. To achieve these goals, iMMAP is dedicating its IM expertise to nine clusters/sub-sectors: Health, Nutrition, WASH, Shelter/CCCM/NFI, Food Security, Child protection, Gender-Based Violence, Education and Logistics.

This one-year project resulted in measurable short and intermediate outcomes for improved cluster response. Assessment and feedback from stakeholders show tangible results and impact in the availability of data and analysis from all sectors.

All sectors reached a level of consistency in data collection using an enhanced, harmonized and user-friendlier 5Ws template. Sectoral analyses are being produced and incorporated into operational planning and coordination. Analysis of the gaps at Ward and Local Government Authority (LGA) levels continues to provide valuable information to responding organizations and enables informed programming. In most of the sectors (Health, WASH, Nutrition, Education, Child Protection, Food Security and Shelter/CCCM) the IM component is efficiently mainstreamed in the broader sector coordination frameworks.

The IM advancement brought by iMMAP capacity across sectors on improved data collection, analysis and reporting made cross-sector comparison possible, unlike before. The Shelter, Nutrition, WASH and Health sectors are leading the way with cross-sectoral analysis, which is expected to continue and to joint assessments.

In all the sectors supported by iMMAP the staff is laying the foundation for proper data visualization by creating geo-databases and developing product templates.

Content on the Humanitarian Response websites for the sectors/sub-sectors are being updated and function and user-friendliness improved. iMMAP team is working in close collaboration with UNOCHA with whom sectors' response activities data are shared. The IMOs collectively standardized and improved the quality of the existing CODs/FODs datasets.

For the first time on Nigeria North East response, IMOs in three sectors (WASH, GBV and Food security) have developed an Interactive Tableau dashboard showing the (current situation per IDP camp in relation to sphere standard- WASH, operational presence and number of reach population- GBV & FS). In WASH sector, IMOs advanced IM work for the sector by developing mobile data collection for assessment and monitoring using Open Data Kit (ODK).
