iMMAP incorporated as a not-for-profit 501 c3 organization in 2006, headquartered in Washington D.C. The iMMAP team formed in 2007 in Washington D.C., to lead the first internationally coordinated effort combining information management, sociology, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology expanding beyond humanitarian mine action to the broader relief and international development arena. Since then, iMMAP has been a pioneering humanitarian organization, leading the way towards the effective use of information management practices and principles in service to the world's most vulnerable populations.

In 2008, iMMAP FRANCE registered as an NGO. iMMAP FRANCE is headquartered in Marseille, France. Since September 1, 2016, iMMAP based in the United States and iMMAP FRANCE are affiliated under the name iMMAP. This allows both organizations to align their strategies, skills, resources and goals.

Our mission is to harness the power of information to facilitate evidence-based decisions to improve people’s lives. Our service offerings bring the full spectrum of information, knowledge and change management skill set, and links that expertise with thematic knowledge (e.g. Food Security, Health, Coordination, Development, Climate Change, Agriculture). We deploy our service package to both aid and development organizations, helping them solve operational and strategic challenges.

We help organizations to provide cost-efficient and more effective service delivery and decision-making, which ultimately leads to improved outcomes for populations. This cost saving enables aid and development organizations to reach more people and to provide better service, across a wider geography.
