Gebrselassie is currently the Capacity Building Lead at iMMAP in Ethiopia after successfully concluding his nearly two-year assignment with iMMAP Nigeria, as Information Management Officer for the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) sub-sector, seconded to UNFPA.
He is an information management and GIS specialist, with over seven years of experience in different humanitarian clusters/sectors and contexts. Gebreslasie worked for more than two years with UNICEF as an emergency Information Management Officer in Liberia, during the Ebola response in 2015. In 2016, he worked in Ethiopia during the El Niño drought response as an Information Management Officer for the WASH cluster. Prior to that, he was a GIS Specialist for the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan for approximately 3 years.
Gebreslasie holds his MSc degree in GIS and Remote Sensing from Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia.
