Information Management Officer


Gebreselasie is currently a senior information management officer (IMO) with iMMAP Ethiopia after successfully concluding his nearly two-year assignment with iMMAP Nigeria, as Information Management Officer for the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Sub-Sector, seconded to UNFPA.

He is an information management and GIS specialist, with over eight years of experience in different humanitarian clusters/sectors and contexts. Gebreslasie worked with UNICEF as an emergency Information Management Officer in Liberia, during the Ebola response in 2015 for two years. In 2016, he worked in Ethiopia during the El Niño drought response as an Information Management Officer for the WASH Cluster. Prior to that, he was a GIS Specialist for the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan for approximately 3 years.

Gebresasie holds a Bachelor's Degree in Geography and Environment Studies and a Master’s of Science in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing from Addis Ababa University. He is fluent in English, Tigrigna, and Amharic.
