Hugo is a Junior Information Management Officer within the Global Surge unit. As a GIS expert and information management enthusiast, he supports the Global Surge with staff deployment, coordination, and project cycle development predominantly under the SBP program with the UN.
Hugo began his career in GIS and development in the Democratic Republic of Congo working for the Virunga National Park. He then developed his GIS skills at the ICRC in the geodata and analysis team in Switzerland.
Hugo holds a Bachelor's Degree in Japanese Studies from SOAS, University of London, United Kingdom, and a Master's Degree in Innovation, Human Development and Sustainability from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, where he focused his studies on the future of urban environments.
Hugo is a native speaker of English and French, and has working knowledge of Japanese and Spanish.
