Isam Ghareeb Barzangy is currently the iMMAP Country Representative for Iraq and Senior Technical Advisor.
From 1999 to 2011, Mr. Barzingy has held various positions with the United Nations Office for Project Services in various countries including Iraq, Sudan, and Afghanistan. These positions have been mainly in the field of mine action data base programming and information management, with his latest post being the Information Management Officer in Afghanistan. In this role, Mr. Barzingy was responsible for information management, programming, and administrating the national mine action databases and capacity building.
Mr. Barzangy completed his bachelor’s degree from the University of Salahaddin in Erbil, Iraq and holds a Master of Business Administration from Robert Kennedy College in Zurich, Switzerland. Barzangy also completed the Center for International Stabilization and Recovery’s (CISR) Senior Managers’ course in May 2016 at James Madison University.
