Jon Carver is a professional with more than 25 years’ experience in humanitarian organizations conceptualizing and implementing response operations, recovery programs, and readiness projects at technical, management and advisory levels in complex and challenging environments.
Mr. Carver currently is the iMMAP Representative in Geneva where he is building partnerships and performing a critical liaison role with UN, NGO, and Government partners. Previously, Mr. Carver was iMMAP's Country Director for Afghanistan, guiding and strengthening a team of dedicated national and international information management professionals to providing targeted information management and geographic information systems (GIS) to humanitarian partners responding to complex humanitarian and development challenges.
Mr. Carver has worked in emergency management at the World Health Organization, the International Federation of the Red Cross/British Red Cross, the World Food Programme and the United Nations Border Relief Operation responding to emergencies, managing substantial offices, building partnerships and emergency capacity. He also has 9 years of experience in the commercial information management sector.
Mr. Carver has a B.A. in Public Affairs, graduate studies in International Affairs and an MSc in Development and Emergency Practices.
