Koen Van Rossum is currently Project Manager of a consortium “Urban Analysis Network”, based in Jordan and contracted with iMMAP since February 2018. In this function, he coordinates six partner organization’s work in 30 urban centers. Previously in 2012, he also worked for iMMAP, seconded to UNOCHA coordinating Humanitarian emergency relief and providing information management support in Burkina Faso in the context of flooding and Malian refugee crisis.
His working experience includes Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for UNICEF Jordan, Senior Information Management Specialist and Stabilization Officer for UNHCR in Jordan, Senior GIS Coordinator for UNDP in Sudan, Information Manager and Liaison Officer for UNOCHA in Darfur and Lebanon and regional Information Management focal point for WHO in Geneva and Copenhagen. He has also completed various consultancies for WB, UNHCR, UNDP, IOM, Save the Children and Plexus Energy.
Koen Van Rossum completed both his Masters and Bachelor in the faculty of Geography at the University of Ghent. He complemented this with an intensive course on International Studies from his Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a distance course on Environmental Impact Assessment and Strategic Environmental Assessment using Spatial Decision Support tools from the University of Twente, and certificates on Result-Based Management and Planning and Joint IDP Profiling.
