Oscar is the information management officer for food security and nutrition at iMMAP in Colombia.
He has worked in genetics and plant breeding, advancing importing issues in the primary sector in the areas of biotechnology, molecular biology, and genomics. His work has revolved around the sustainable use of natural resources and the strengthening of agroecosystems with the aim of benefiting society in general and food security in particular. Moreover, he has experience in rural economic and social development, focused on key processes in close collaboration with diverse actors, entrepreneurs, and family farming to improve food sovereignty and livelihoods, taking into account respect for different cultures, traditions, and capacities of communities.
He is a professional who always investigates thoroughly and takes advantage of existing knowledge in order to optimize results, no matter if he is working in the private sector or in international cooperation with national and international organizations.
