The number of IDPs and returnees as per the IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix DTM up to August 15th, 2018 remains almost the same with two million
displaced persons and 3.9 million returnees. The returnees direction is towards to the liberated areas with the majority of returnees is towards Mosul. Lack of basic services and livelihood opportunities still constitute the major hinderances towards IDPs desire to return to their homes.
