The military operations to retake Mosul and its corridors from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) started on Oct 17th, 2016. An official declaration of victory was proclaimed on 10 July 2017. It was estimated that removing the explosives from Mosul and repairing the city over the next 5 years would require USD 50 billion, while Mosul's Old City alone would cost about USD 1 billion in addition to a total of over a million people from Mosul had been displaced by the military operations. As of 30 Sep 2017, the iMMAP security incidents tracking system has recorded 6,653 number of explosive incidents in Mosul Operations Area since the beginning of military operations which have resulted in the death of about 8,769 people and Injuries of 1,560 ones. Between 17 Oct 2016 to 30 Sep 2017 over 816,738 people have been displaced from the Mosul Operation Areas and they are in dire need of humanitarian support and assistance.
