Venezuela Earthquake Impact Map - 24th June 2026

Venezuela Earthquake Impact Map - 24th June 2026

June 25, 2026

Venezuela Earthquake — Rapid Impact Overview Produced by iMMAP | Based on USGS ShakeMap & WorldPop 2026 data | 24 June 2026 Two major earthquakes struck near Yumare, Venezuela on 24 June — an M 7.2 followed one minute later by an M 7.5, both triggering red USGS alerts. iMMAP's rapid impact analysis, combining USGS ShakeMap intensity data with WorldPop 2026 population figures, shows the scale of potential exposure: → ~590,000 people in severe to violent shaking zones (MMI VII+) across both events → 4.8 million exposed to strong shaking (VI) from the M 7.5 alone → Over 16 million people within the total earthquake footprint The shaking footprint of the stronger, shallower M 7.5 event extends toward the Valencia–Caracas urban corridor — placing significant urban populations within high-intensity zones. The sequential nature of these events compounds the challenge: cumulative structural damage, disrupted access routes, and overlapping needs will define what an effective response looks like in the hours ahead.

Information Management Capacity Needs in Syria - January 2026

Information Management Capacity Needs in Syria - January 2026

June 15, 2026

Recent political developments in late 2024 have contributed to a rapidly evolving humanitarian operating environment in Syria. These changes have coincided with efforts to reconfigure coordination arrangements and strengthen in-country leadership, while humanitarian needs remain severe, with an estimated 16.5 million people in need for assistance. The operational landscape continues to be characterized by access constraints, security risks, and significant regional disparities in coverage. A consortium composed of iMMAP, CartONG, MapAction and Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) has initiated a multi-partner approach to strengthen the Syrian humanitarian data ecosystem. This initiative is implemented under the Humanitarian-to-Humanitarian (H2H) framework and is designed as an enabling service to the broader humanitarian system. It does not replace existing coordination, information management, or assessment structures, but rather strengthens the ability of local and national actors to collect, manage and utilize ethical and interoperable data.

Cropland Fire Risk Mapping - Hama Governorate

Cropland Fire Risk Mapping - Hama Governorate

June 15, 2026

Under the H2H Network Syria project, we developed a Cropland Fire Risk Map in support of the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management (MoEDM) to identify agricultural areas most vulnerable to fire incidents across Syria. The analysis integrates historical fire occurrence data (2018–2025), land surface temperature, soil moisture, and 2026 cropland layers to highlight areas at increased risk. The resulting information product supports preparedness planning, risk reduction efforts, and evidence-based decision-making to help protect agricultural livelihoods and strengthen national disaster management capacities.

IM Assessment Findings - Lebanon Emergency Response June 2026

IM Assessment Findings - Lebanon Emergency Response June 2026

June 12, 2026

Through the Information Management helpdesk support mechanism in place under the H2H Consortium Team (iMMAP, CartONG, MapAction and HOT) and in coordination with LHDF, an Information Management assessment was conducted to better understand current practices, challenges, and priority support needs across LHDF members. The findings below present insights on information management tools in use, operational challenges, training needs and helpdesk support requirements, helping identify priority areas for technical support and capacity strengthening to enable more coordinated, evidence-informed, and sustainable humanitarian action during the current emergency and moving forward in Lebanon.
