UNDP and iMMAP Announce Memorandum of Understanding
August 3, 2017, Washington, D.C. – As part of the United Nations’ Stand-by Partnership Program (SBPP), iMMAP and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) announced today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a stand-by partnership to complement UNDP’s internal staffing capacity to support the deployment of personnel to UNDP HQ and country offices operating in crisis and recovery situations.
The MoU, signed by UNDP’s Acting Director for the Crisis Response Unit, Bruno Lemarquis and iMMAP’s Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, William Barron outlines the basis for the ongoing collaboration between the two organizations, where iMMAP will provide individual deployments of personnel in accordance with the terms of the MoU.
The Stand-by Partnership Program is a United Nations’ (UN) sponsored response mechanism designed to provide skilled and experienced human resource during the first phase of a new emergency. It covers a wide range of professional categories. iMMAP participates in the SBPP solely within the niche of its expertise, namely the information management (IM) category.
iMMAP has been an official Stand-by Partner (SBP) to the UN since 2012, providing support to numerous UN agencies across the world. IMMAP currently maintains partnerships with eight (8) UN agencies; Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), World Food Programme (WFP), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), International Organization for Migration (IOM), United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF), World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and United Nation Development Programme (UNDP).
