iMMAP Inc. Convenes Stakeholders Workshop to Review Humanitarian Information Management Support in Nigeria

On October 10 and 11, 2024, iMMAP Inc. brought stakeholders together to review the support provided through the ‘Coordination, Information Management (IM), and Capacity Building Services in Support of Humanitarian Actions in Nigeria’ project implemented in the northeast region of the country, covering Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe (BAY) states in the 2023/2024 project cycle. The workshop also provided an opportunity to present a roadmap for the expansion of the support to the northwest region, to cover the states of Katsina, Sokoto, and Zamfara in the following phase of the project. This project is funded through the generous support of the American people, provided by the USAID Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA).

I want to thank our partners and the USAID BHA team for attending this event as we reflect on our interventions and seek to learn more about how our programs can be improved and tailored to better meet the needs of the humanitarian partners in Nigeria.”William Barron, iMMAP Inc. CEO

While the iMMAP Inc. Nigeria team leveraged the event to highlight the achievements and lessons learned, the workshop also provided space for the partners to share their experiences with the support provided, highlighting what worked, and the opportunities for improvement and scale-up.

Thank you for the opportunity to be here to speak on the positive impact of your IM support in fostering evidence-based humanitarian and development interventions in Adamawa state and to highlight areas for continued collaboration. The state government is happy to partner with you.”Honorable Bello Hamman, the Commissioner, Adamawa State Ministry for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Reintegration, and Humanitarian Services,

In northwest Nigeria, humanitarian needs emerge from armed banditry, insecurity, poverty, and competition over natural resources that culminates in farmer-herder clashes. During the event, iMMAP Inc. outlined an operational roadmap for providing IM solutions to strengthen coordinated humanitarian action in the region.

iMMAP Inc. has been providing IM support to partners responding to the humanitarian crisis in Nigeria since 2016 in the BAY states. In the 2024/2025 project phase, the support model in the northeast will be scaled up, with a footprint in Katsina, Sokoto, and Zamfara states in the northwest region.
