Global Partnership between the Danish Refugee Council and iMMAP Inc. to Enhance Protection Analysis

Today, we announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) and iMMAP Inc. This partnership aims to strengthen information management and protection analysis within the DRC, supporting broader efforts in protection clusters, working groups, and coordination structures at both country and regional levels. The ultimate objective is to improve protection outcomes for affected populations.

We are very pleased to partner with iMMAP Inc. on strengthening protection analysis efforts. This collaboration aims to address an important gap that both organisations see as critical to ensuring evidence-based responses that strengthen protection outcomes for people affected by conflict and displacement. In DRC, we are looking forward to strengthening this collaboration with iMMAP Inc.”Kathrine Starup, Head of Protection Unit at DRC.

In September, the DRC formalized its collaboration with IMMAP, joining as one of their Standby Partnership partners. Through this arrangement, Information Management (IM) and analysis professionals will be seconded to DRC's country and regional operations, enhancing the organization's capacity in these areas.

This initiative, currently in its initial stages, is supported by funding iMMAP has received from the USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) to promote coordinated efforts in protection analysis. Other partners involved in this initiative include the Global Protection Cluster.

We are delighted to partner with the Danish Refugee Council, a fellow member of the Global Protection Cluster, to strengthen protection analysis capacity in complex humanitarian settings. By working together, we aim to provide timely and actionable data that will enhance the protection of vulnerable populations affected by conflict and displacement. This partnership presents a vital opportunity to address existing data gaps that impact effective protection efforts. By combining our expertise, we strive to deliver evidence-driven, meaningful solutions that improve the lives of those most at risk.”William Barron, CEO of iMMAP Inc.

The first phase of support under this MoU is planned for Myanmar. As we explore further collaboration opportunities, we will keep our colleagues informed. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about potential opportunities related to this partnership, please contact the Global Protection Unit (GPU) at Danish Refugee Council or contact iMMAP at contact@immap.org.
