Samir M. Sarteep is currently Project Manager for the project funded by the Iraq Humanitarian Fund: Multi-Dimensional Risk Mitigation Information Management Center. The project has been funded by OCHA since November 2016 in response to the humanitarian crisis and displacement caused by the protracted conflict against ISIS in Iraq.

As project lead, Samir manages the project activities and the reporting, he represents the iMMAP-IHF project in meetings, conferences, workshops and humanitarian events in Iraq including Information Management Working Group, Protection Working Group, and humanitarian crisis forums.

Mr. Samir has eighteen years of experience, he worked as Program Manager for six years with the International Republican Institute-IRI, a U.S. organization promoting democracy worldwide and as an International Long-term Observer in Pakistan for the 2007 election.

He also worked for five years as a Personnel Assistant for the United Nations Development Program-UNDP from 1999 to 2004 in Iraq.

Mr. Samir is a member of the Kurdistan Bar Association and holds two Bachelor degrees – in Law School and English Literature and has successfully completed numerous training related to elections, political party development, management, supervisory skills, and computer proficiency programs. He is a native Kurdish speaker with excellent English and Arabic skills.
