Amr has been serving as the country representative for iMMAP Inc. in Nigeria since December 2023. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing and managing all personnel, programs, and policies within the country. Additionally, he leads in finance, strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, staff safety, and representation.
With over 18 years of experience in the United Nations and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs), Amr has held various positions in humanitarian and post-crisis environments. His roles have included information management coordination, humanitarian sector coordination, interagency and inter-sector coordination, technical advisory roles, program and project management, as well as representing INGOs. His extensive professional background spans across East and West Africa, the Middle East, and Far East Asia. Amr has accumulated a wealth of experience working with reputable organizations such as WHO, UNDP and the European Chamber of Commerce in Sudan, WFP in Cambodia and Iraq, UNHCR in Egypt, IGAD in Djibouti, WHO in Nigeria, and iMMAP Inc. in Ethiopia and Nigeria. Prior to his tenure at iMMAP Inc. in Nigeria, he held the position of Projects Manager for Digital Transformation - Social Protection at WFP in Iraq.
Amr holds a Master's degree in Geo-informatics from Linkoping University in Sweden and is fluent in both English and Arabic.
