Strategic Planning, Technology and Innovation Director
Bertrand is the Strategic Planning, Technology and Innovation Director at iMMAP Inc. HQ. He is responsible for leading iMMAP Inc.'s innovative efforts both internally and in support of humanitarian and development partners. He manages the Global Tech Unit, a team of experts in ICT, Knowledge Management, and Software Development, distributed globally. His role is to ensure that the systems and processes are in place to deliver seamless services to iMMAP Inc. clients worldwide.
Bertrand brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously held the position of Global IM Technical Advisor and Global Surge IM Officer. He has extensive experience in IT and Information Management, including over two years as a surge IM with IFRC in Turkey for the Syria refugee response, Zambia, Mozambique, and DRC. He also spent nearly four years as the Head of the ICT/IM department at the Burundi Red Cross.
Bertrand holds a Master’s Degree in Engineering and Computer Applications and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science and Technology from Tianjin University in China. He is fluent in English, French, Mandarin, Swahili, Kirundi, and Kinyarwanda.
