Irakli Chitanava is mine action project manager for iMMAP Ukraine. His main tasks involve managing a team of third-party monitors to ensure efficient and reliable information collection and reporting. He liaises with international and national mine action operators working in the sector and develops and refines monitoring and evaluation protocols, mechanisms, tools, communication channels, and information products.
Prior to his current position, Irakli worked for The HALO Trust as a program manager in Somalia for two months, as deputy program manager in Ukraine for two years and as program manager in Georgia for six years. Irakli has extensive experience with mine action projects, working with OSCE and Danish Refugee Council.
Irakli Chitanava holds a Bachelor's degree from the Diplomatic Academy of Georgia. He speaks English, Georgian, Ukrainian and Russian.
