Senior Capacity Building Officer


Jerome Oyetoro is presently a senior capacity building officer in iMMAP Nigeria. He is a geospatial expert with over two decades of work experience.

Before his current employment with iMMAP, he served in different capacities as a consultant with Hydrographic and Dredging department of the Nigerian Ports Authority on GIS soft skills development and bathymetry charting. He also played a major role in the Geo-Referenced Infrastructure and Demographic Data for Development (GRID3) initiative, a project implemented to build the first open data portal for the government of Nigeria and the Nigerian people. He is a member of the OSGeo Nigeria chapter Steering Committee and also one of the presenters at the grand International conference for open source software for geospatial at Boston, Massachusetts, USA, in 2017 where he gave a presentation on “Using FOSS4G to Support Polio Eradication in West Africa”.

Jerome holds a first degree in Geography and a master’s degree in Geographic Information Systems
