Luis is a senior information management officer seconded to the Global Health Cluster (GHC). He is the responsible to strengthen the collective and respective health information management and its use. He leads the information team in the GHC and co-chair the IM task team with WHO. He supports 31 countries and regional health clusters in the countries affected by violence and disasters with the IM community.
Prior to his current position iMMAP Inc., Luis was deployed to Mozambique, Panama and Honduras over the period of three years. Luis has extensive experience working with IM. Prior to joining iMMAP Inc., he worked with OCHA as an IMO in response to Iota in Honduras for a year. Prior to that, he was with WHO as an IMO in Syria and Sierra Leone for two years. Previously, he was the regional IMO for UNMEER for a year and he also worked with OCHA in Colombia as an IMO for five years.
Luis holds a Master´s in Knowledge Management from the University of Montpellier in France, a degree in Digital Information Management from the University of Externado and Psychology from the National University in Colombia. He is fluent in English and Spanish
