Mohammed Belo is the Jordan Country Representative. Joining iMMAP as an information management officer in August 2014, Belo has since overseen iMMAP Jordan’s information visualization unit, which is responsible for delivering an array of products that translate complex information into intelligible visualizations. As iMMAP Jordan’s Regional Capacity Development Coordinator, Belo is also entrusted with leading capacity building efforts with partner organizations, enhancing their competence and know-how of essential information management practices.
Before joining iMMAP, Belo had attained more than a decade of experience in the humanitarian sector, working with multiple UN agencies, including FAO, UNDP, and OCHA, to support their programs in Sudan, Angola, and most recently Syria. Using a mixture of consultative, and collaborative leadership philosophies, Belo has developed a unique leadership approach that encourages and empowers diplomacy, democracy, team building, and full utilization of human resources within the workspace.
Belo holds an MA in Information and Geo-visualization from Sweden’s Linkoping University, and a BA in Information Technology from Sudan’s Future University. He is fluent in Arabic and English.
