Richard rejoined iMMAP Inc. Nigeria as the Program Manager in March 2024. He oversees iMMAP Inc. Nigeria Country Office’s work in the initiation, planning, design, development, implementation, and monitoring of humanitarian and development programs. He also oversees the development, review, and improvement of business processes related to the support and delivery of the programs in Nigeria.
Richard has vast information management (IM) experience in humanitarian and developmental contexts across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and the Pacific, working with the United Nations, national governments, the private sector, international organizations, and donor agencies. These include the Office of the Prime Minister of Uganda, the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development in Uganda, the Uganda Institute of Bankers, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the UN World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), UNICEF, German Technical Cooperation, Catholic Relief Services, and iMMAP Inc. He has also worked with UN Resident Coordinators’ Offices in Bangladesh, and South Sudan.
Richard holds the degree of Master of Arts in Diplomacy and International Studies from Uganda Martyrs University in Uganda, a Master of Science in Computer Science from Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly the University of Pune) in India, and a Bachelor's of Library and Information Science from Makerere University in Uganda. He is fluent in English and Luganda, with a working knowledge of Kiswahili and French.
