Sandra is the External Relations Director based in Washington, DC. She is responsible for building visibility and partnerships to advance iMMAP Inc.’s mission.
She brings three decades of experience in communications and marketing strategy, having worked with corporations, non-profits, and international organizations across various sectors. Her skill set includes executive leadership, strategic planning, public relations, and crisis communications. Sandra’s professional journey began at Monitor Deloitte in Cambridge, Massachusetts, before transitioning into advertising, where she provided guidance to US corporations on global marketing strategies.
Over the past fourteen years, Sandra has led global communications divisions for international non-governmental organizations. Her leadership, particularly in strategic planning, has been instrumental in repositioning organizations for growth. Her responsibilities have encompassed organizational design, change management, donor relations, and policy outreach.
She recently served as the Chief Communications Officer for the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) in Lisbon, Portugal, as Executive Director for the World Federalist Movement/Institute for Global Policy based in The Hague, and as Chief Communications Officer for the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) in Nairobi, Kenya.
Sandra holds a Master’s Degree in international relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in Massachusetts, USA, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and History from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA. She also studied French for two years at Harvard Extension School.
Sandra has lived and worked in Kenya, Portugal, and Peru. During her professional career, she has traveled to thirty-five countries. A native English speaker, she has also worked in French and Spanish.
