Since 2022, as Ukraine confronts the profound ramifications of a conflict that has altered the lives of nearly 44 million people, iMMAP Inc. has actively stepped up to support key players in the humanitarian field.

A prime example of this support is iMMAP Inc.’s collaboration with Right to Protection - one of the leading organizations in the human rights movement in Ukraine, which has a strong position in protecting the rights of IDPs, refugees and stateless persons. The main spheres of their work cover legal and psychological assistance, protection monitoring in settlements, at border crossing points, in collective centers, and social institutions, as well as protection of human rights, advocacy activities at the state and international levels, data collection for partner monetary programs, as well as the provision of humanitarian aid throughout the territory of Ukraine.

In support of Right to Protection’s impactful work, iMMAP Inc.’s Ukraine facilitated a series of training sessions in Kyiv and Dnipro, Ukraine's fourth-largest city; located in the eastern part of the country. Carefully structured to enhance the Right to Protection team, these sessions welcomed 30 participants in Kyiv and 55 in Dnipro. Conducted in-person and in Ukrainian, the sessions were tailored to be as accessible and as engaging as possible, reflecting to iMMAP Inc.’s commitment to pragmatic, on-the-ground support.

"Our training programs cover a wide range of topics in humanitarian information management field. However, recognizing the unique needs of different organizations, we go beyond the standard offerings. So, whenever we receive a request from a particular organization, we take the time to develop a tailored program. Our team works closely with the requesting organization to understand particular challenges, goals, and workflow intricacies. Based on this in-depth analysis, we develop and deliver a program that directly supports the real work and objectives of the organization.” Iryna Tkachuk, Capacity Building Coordinator at iMMAP Inc. Ukraine.

In a country grappling with conflict, the indispensability of advanced data management and questionnaire development skills for local organizations like Right to Protection cannot be overstated. In this challenging environment, this expertise proves invaluable, assisting organizations like Right to Protection in addressing the complex and evolving needs of displaced persons and vulnerable groups. Moreover, enhanced data visualization skills empower humanitarians to clearly present complex data trends, facilitating more effective communication with stakeholders and decision-makers. This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to humanitarian excellence, where data serves not just as numbers, but as a powerful tool in shaping responsive and responsible humanitarian action.

The training sessions went a step further by providing partners with comprehensive knowledge for creating custom digital forms using Kobo Toolbox, a vital tool for surveys, assessments, and data collection. This approach not only streamlines the data-gathering process by enabling deployment on smartphones and tablets but also significantly reduces reliance on paper-based surveys and manual data entry.

Nataliya Pismenna, an analyst from Right to Protection, recently completed the iMMAP Inc. MS Excel Training covering Levels 1 and 2. 'It was a fantastic learning experience,' Pismenna said.

"The training was exceptionally well-structured, with content that was both informative and practical.  The instructors were highly knowledgeable, patient, and always ready to assist with any questions. They made complex Excel functions seem easy to understand and apply. What impressed me the most was the training's real-world applicability. I've already started using the skills I learned in my work with datasets, improving my efficiency and productivity. I highly recommend this Excel course to anyone looking to enhance their spreadsheet skills. It's an investment that pays off quickly, and I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in it."
