Data Analyst


Abdlesemed is a data analyst based in Ethiopia. He is responsible for the production of humanitarian situation analysis reports through secondary data review while supporting the multisectoral needs assessment activities for the preparation of the Humanitarian Response Plan.

Abdlesemed has over 12 years of experience in GIS, remote sensing and data management. Prior to joining iMMAP, Abdlesemed worked with Research Triangle Institute, NRECA, the Geospatial Information Institute and the Intergovernmental Authority for Development in the areas of remote sensing, data management and GIS for nearly 10 years. Prior to that, he worked with the Center for International Forestry Research, Akvo Organization and the International Livestock Research Institute as a consultant and research associate for two years in Ethiopia.

Abdlesemed holds a Master´s Degree in GIS and Remote Sensing from Addis Ababa University and a Bachelor´s Degree in Land Resource Management and Environmental Protection from Mekelle University in Ethiopia. He further holds a certificate of Digital Image Processing from the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing in India. He is fluent in English and Amharic.
