David Alejandro is the technical advisor for iMMAP in Ethiopia. Prior to that, he was the project lead and senior information management officer for the COVID-19 Situation Analysis project in Colombia.

David Alejandro has over 15 years of experience leading humanitarian, peace, and security initiatives, focusing on harnessing data to inform decision-making for a safer world. Prior to joining iMMAP, he acted as senior geospatial and open-source intelligence analyst, addressing geopolitical security matters across Latin America and the Caribbean. Before that, he served as the country director of Heartland Alliance International in Colombia, focused on extending mental health and access to justice services to underserved ethnic communities. David Alejandro has consulted for diverse international organizations, including CDAC Network, ACDI/VOCA, UN OCHA, Harvard Humanitarian Initiative, World Vision, International Crisis Group, etc. For over four years, he has also trained cross-sector professionals on Humanitarian Action as Professor at Universidad Javeriana.

David Alejandro holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of San Francisco and a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School, Tufts University, and is completing an Executive Master in International Business from ESCP Business School. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
