Senior Information Management Officer - Head of the HIST Program
Gashaw Mekuria is a senior information management officer (IMO) and Head of the Humanitarian Information Support Team (HIST) Program at iMMAP Inc. in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In his role, he oversees the operational management of HIST, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products and services. Gashaw also leads the development of comprehensive product pipelines, manage stakeholder relationships, involve in business developments, and analyze metrics to enhance Information Management (IM) capacities.
With extensive experience spanning various roles at organizations including FAO, UNICEF, WFP, as well as, INGOs, research institutes, and government offices. Gashaw has a strong background in supporting numerous humanitarian and development initiatives, and has also been actively involved in scientific research and journal writing.
Academically, Gashaw holds a Master of Science (MSc.) degree in Bioinformatics from the University of Turku, Finland, and a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree in Statistics from Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia.
