Samuel Otieno is an Information Management Officer seconded to the Global Protection Cluster (GPC) to support in the redesign, upgrade and deployment of the GPC Systems. He also supports the GPC in data visualization through design of Data Models and Data pipelines that are used in the generation of Analytic Dashboards.

With over 7 years of experience in the Humanitarian and Development Sector, Samuel has a rich background in developing Information Management Systems and designing systems tailored for emergency situations. His previous roles include serving as a Senior AI/ML Engineer at the Africa Climate Summit and working with UN-Habitat in Afghanistan as an Associate Information Management Systems Developer. He has also contributed his skills to organizations such as Elephants Alive, Resource Africa, the American Red Cross, Kenya Red Cross, and the Mastercard Foundation.Samuel's skill set encompasses Software Programming, specializing in Bespoke Systems, ERPs, Web Systems, Database Systems, Mobile Apps, and Analytic Solutions such as PowerBI, Tableau, and Synapse Analytics.

Currently pursuing a MSc. in Big Data and Cybersecurity, he holds an Undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Applied Statistics, as well as a Second Degree in Computer Security and Forensic Science. Samuel is fluent in English, Swahili, and basic French.
