iMMAP and Thinking Machines Data Science Announce Memorandum of Understanding
The added value in this newly-established agreement is to combine the technical know-how of Thinking Machines with the experience in the field in iMMAP, where both sides are able to gain strategically and improve decision-making and response in disaster and crisis situations.

Bogota, 21 May 2019– Thinking Machines Data Science and iMMAP have announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to exchange knowledge and expertise, to contribute towards shared data standards for humanitarian data exchange, and to identify potential research and technical problems and areas where emerging technologies could be useful to augment humanitarian response.
This agreement, signed by iMMAP Colombia Head of Office, Mr. Jeffrey Villaveces, and Thinking Machines Data Science´s Head of Public and Civic Engagements, Mrs. Patricia Faustino, aligns with iMMAP´s values to solve operational and strategic challenges of our partners by staying at the forefront of information management and data analysis.
The relationship between iMMAP and Thinking Machines began when the organizations both presented during the Thinking Machines Data Science is a data science consultancy that provides clients from the private, public, and non-profit sectors with services in data strategy development, data visualizations, machine learning, and data engineering. One of the company’s key services is using machine learning to extract usable geospatial data on demographics, infrastructure, and the physical environment from satellite imagery and other data sources. Thinking Machines Data Science is headquartered in Manila, Philippines.
