Information Management Specialist


Alca is an information management specialist based in Haiti. He is responsible for supporting the UNICEF Haiti WASH Cluster office with improving cluster coordination efforts, IM diagnostics and the data collection and analysis systems. He also provides support to monitoring and evaluation of activities, GIS and mapping production as well as survey and database design.

Prior to his current position, Alca supported UNICEF in the global WASH Cluster covering Sahel countries of Mali, Niger, Chad and Burkina Faso. Alca has over five years of experience in information management working for various UN agencies including OCHA, UNICEF, WFP and FAO. Prior to joining iMMAP, Alca worked with UNICEF in Senegal for two years as the regional IM specialist. Before that he was together with WFP/FAO as a food security IM in Mali for a year. He also worked with UNICEF and OCHA in DRC, Tunis and Switzerland for over two years.

Alca holds a Bachelor´s Degree of Civil Engineering from the Institute du Batiment et des Travaux Publics in DRC, he is also a professional drone pilot and web developer. Alca also developed a web application for tracking cholera cases in west and central Africa which has been deployed in three regions of the continent. He is fluent in English and French.
